The SCRAM Wireless Base Station (WBS) plays an important roll in your client’s monitoring. The bracelet stores data and then downloads the data to their base station, after which it will transmit the data to SCRAMNET. The communication method and schedule are determined when adding the equipment information to the client’s profile. In some cases, there may be additional steps the client must follow to ensure the data transfer is completed successfully.
When the client will be utilizing a SCRAM WBS via Wi-Fi, the client will need to establish the Wi-Fi connection once they have installed the base station in their home. Provide your clients the information below to guide them though the process of establishing a Wi-Fi connection utilizing the network identification and password information, or the Wireless Protective Setup (WPS) method:
Option One:
- Access www.scramsystems.com/help/scram-cam/ (also for House Arrest)
- Scroll down and select the Set Up Wi-Fi Base Station
- On the SCRAM Systems Wi-Fi Setup page enter in your:
- Base station serial number (located on the label on the back of the base station, near the power cord connection).
- Network Name (SSID).
- Network Password.
- Last Name of Assigned Participant (Your last name).
- Check the box next to the I’m not a robot and follow the verification instructions.
- Click the Send to Base Station button.
Check the LCD display on the front of the base station, after a few minutes the LCD screen on the base station should update from 4G (LTE) to WIFI.
This method requires a cellular connection to initialize. If your WBS does not update after 30 minutes, verify you have cell reception and try your request again, or use Option Two below.
Option Two:
If your wireless router supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) connections…
- On the front of the base station, press and release the button until the correct Network name appears on the LCD screen.
- Once the correct network name is displayed, press and hold the button until the base station’s LCD screen displays: PRESS WPS BUTTON ON ROUTER AND WAIT
- Press (and hold) the WPS button on your router (until the light begins to blink).
Check the LCD display on the front of the base station, after a few minutes the LCD screen on the base station should update from 4G (LTE) to WIFI.
