After adding the equipment information in SCRAMNET, the next step is to install the SCRAM CAM bracelet on the client’s ankle and assign the equipment for alcohol monitoring.
To complete the installation and assignment process efficiently, there are a few steps you can perform and verify prior to meeting with the client and before installing the bracelet on the client’s ankle.
- Participant Agreement: Print two copies of the agreement. Review the information provided on the Participant agreement form with the client and have them sign both copies. One copy is for your records and the second copy is for the client.
- SCRAM CAM Bracelet: Before installing the SCRAM CAM bracelet on the client’s ankle, you can install the bracelet’s components and faceplate. Do not let the battery sit in the bracelet for more than 24 hours before installing the bracelet on the client’s leg.
- Base Station: Ensure the base station’s back up battery is fully charged. If the base station was recently received from SCRAM Systems, it is possible there is a clear plastic plug in the Ethernet port. Remove this plug with a pair of needle-nose pliers.
- Direct Connect Application: When using the Direct Connect Application for assignment, ensure the application is installed on your computer before meeting with the client. When installing the Direct Connect application on your computer for the first time, verify which version of the application to install by identifying which Direct Connect tool you will be using.
