Recommendation
SCRAM Systems recommends that Program Participants who will be traveling by air while being monitored by a SCRAM Remote Breath Pro device, carry a printed copy of their SCRAM Remote Breath Program Participant Agreement, along with a printed copy of the following statement, to share with airport security and airline personnel if needed.
Statement
The SCRAM Remote Breath Pro device (the “Device”) is part of an alcohol abstinence monitoring program. The Device tests the program participant’s breath for alcohol and then transfers the test data to a computerized monitoring network via a wireless data connection.
For the duration of the monitoring program, program participants are required to carry the Device on or near their person at all times, and agree to provide a sample of their breath for alcohol testing when prompted by the device. This equipment is intended to be used by individuals being monitored by a trained supervising authority.
The SCRAM Remote Breath Pro Device is powered by an internal rechargeable 5V DC 2.0A Lithium Ion (Li-ion) battery.
The Device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed and manufactured not to exceed the safe emissions limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy. The exposure standard for wireless RF devices employs a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The established SAR limit is 4W/kg.* SAR values at or below that limit are considered safe for the general public.
Alcohol Monitoring Systems, Inc., d.b.a. “SCRAM Systems,” asserts the Device is as safe to bring into the passenger compartment of a commercial airliner as a mobile smartphone or any other admissible portable electronic device.
