SCRAM RB Pro Glossary of Terms

General Definitions

Agency – An agency is typically a government organization that partners directly with SCRAM Systems to manage clients enrolled in SCRAMNET.

Agent – An agent is the individual who manages clients enrolled in the SCRAM Program.

Alerts – An alert is a classification for events that require special attention or notification.

Call Center – A Call Center is a level on SCRAMNET reserved for those supervising authorities that manage multiple agencies.

Caseload – A caseload is a group of active clients being managed by an Agent or Agent Supervisor.

Client – An individual enrolled in the SCRAM Monitoring Program.

Compliance – The term ‘compliance’ denotes the status of a client that is in full conformity with the terms of the SCRAM Participant Agreement.

Customer – A customer is any entity with whom SCRAM Systems may have a business relationship, such as an Agency or Court.

Direct Connect – Device used for device assignment and to upload readings from the SCRAM CAM or House Arrest bracelet and Standard Base Station to SCRAMNET.

Judicial – The Judicial area of the site is specific to court and judge management.

Non-compliance – The term ‘non-compliance’ denotes the status of a client that is NOT in conformity with the terms of the Participant Agreement.

Offender – An offender is a client assigned to comply with the terms of the SCRAM Participant Agreement.

Region – The Region area of SCRAMNET enables a customer (typically a national organization) to group business units.

Scheduled Maintenance – A SCRAM device requires scheduled maintenance. An alert is generated indicating that scheduled maintenance is required.

SCRAMNET / SCRAMNET GPS / Nexus / SCRAM 24/7 / Optix – Web-based applications used to manage SCRAM clients and equipment.

Servicing Location – A Servicing Location is a facility, such as an office, that is used to manage clients and SCRAM equipment.

SCRAM Remote Breath Pro Definitions

Automated Facial Intelligence (AFI) – Technology used to compare photographs taken during a SCRAM Remote Breath Pro test.

Courtesy Reminder – The client can choose to receive a text-message reminder to perform a scheduled breath test 30 minutes before, 15 minutes before, or at the scheduled test time.

Fixed Remote Breath Test – A one-hour, single instance test window that can also be set to recur at the same time each day that it is scheduled.

Grace Period – Establishes the time window from the scheduled time the client has to take a test.

On-Demand Remote Breath Test – A test that is initiated in real-time, with the client receiving an audio indication of the required test within 20 minutes.

Practice Test – Tests that a client takes during enrollment to become familiar with how to use the SCRAM Remote Breath Pro device properly.

Random Remote Breath Test – A test window that can be varied in length, with the actual event occurring at any time during that period.

Test Results Alerts

Missed Test Alert – Generated when a client does not take a scheduled test.

Missed – Temperature Alert – Generated when the device detects the temperature was outside of its operating temperature by the end of the testing window.

Missed Test – Battery Depleted Alert – Generated when the device is plugged into AC power after a test was missed because the battery was dead.

Incomplete Test Alert – Generated when a client provides an invalid air sample.

Failed Test Alert – Generated when a client provides a positive air sample with a BrAC above the acceptable threshold.

Failed Test-Missed Confirmation Alert – Generated when a client does NOT provide a confirmation air sample.

Failed Test-Incomplete Confirmation Alert – Generated when a client provides an invalid confirmation air sample.

Failed Test-Abnormal Confirmation Alert – Generated when a client provides a confirmation sample that is not within +/- .020 of the initial air sample.

AFI Pending Review – Generated when SCRAMNET receives a test with a passed BrAC level, but the facial recognition does not match.

Possible Face Obstruction Alert – Generated when SCRAMNET receives a test with a passed BrAC level, but the facial recognition does not match.

Non-Alert Test Result – Generated when partial data is received for a breath test in SCRAMNET. Once all data is received, the alert disposition will be updated. This event is only visible on the client’s RB Results page.

Unable to Initiate Test – Device Alert – Generated in the unlikely event that the device is processing other data during a scheduled or on-demand test.

Scheduled Test Not Received Alert – Generated when SCRAMNET does NOT receive a test result within 90 minutes of the scheduled test time.

Passed Test Alert* – Generated when a client provides a valid air sample and the BrAC level is less than the established threshold.

Passed – Client-Initiated Test Alert* –Test result when the client provides a voluntary test sample that is below the acceptable threshold.

Passed – On-Demand Test Alert* –Test result when the supervising authority has prompted the device to request an immediate breath test from the client.

Ambient VOC Detected – When an excess of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) – usually picked up from the device’s surroundings – is detected in the SCRAM Remote Breath Pro (RB Pro) device’s breath testing flow path, the RB Pro device prevents breath tests from being performed.

*This event only appears on the client’s Alerts > RB Results page.

Assignment Alerts

Equipment Awaiting Return Alert – Generated when a SCRAM Remote Breath Pro device is in the “Awaiting Return” status for at least three days.

Extended Pending Assignment – Remote Breath Alert – Generated when a SCRAM Remote Breath Pro device is in the “Pending Assignment” status for more than 24 hours.

Pending Removal – Remote Breath Alert – Generated when a SCRAM Remote Breath Pro device is in the “Pending Removal” status for more than 24 hours.

Enrollment Incomplete Alert – Generated when one of the following criteria is NOT met within four hours of assignment:

  • Client-specific readings sent to the device.
  • Device is activated.
  • SCRAMNET receives initial client photo.
  • SCRAMNET receives first BrAC reading.

NOTE: You must unassign and reassign the SCRAM Remote Breath Pro device to clear the alert.

Scheduled Maintenance Alerts

Calibration Required Alert – Generated when a SCRAM Remote Breath Pro device is due for calibration.

Device Calibration Past Due Alert – Generated for each test that is taken after a “Calibration Required” alert has been generated.

Equipment Alerts and Events

Device Battery Charging* – Generated when a SCRAM Remote Breath Pro device is plugged in and charging.

Device Battery Low Alert – Generated when the battery in a SCRAM Remote Breath Pro device is at a level that requires charging. This alert will only appear on the RB Results page at the client level.

Device Battery Critically Low Alert – Generated when the battery in a SCRAM Remote Breath Pro device has reached a level that requires immediate charging.

Device Housing Breach Alert – Generated when the battery door is removed from a SCRAM Remote Breath Pro device.

Replace Device Alert – Generated when a SCRAM Remote Breath Pro device fails a diagnostic test or an RMA is generated.

Device Plugged into AC Power* – Reported when the device detects it is connected to a power source.

Device Removed from AC Power* – Reported when the device detects it has been removed from a power source.

Battery Charged* – Reported when the battery level is fully charged.

Communication Alert

Extended Missed Communication Alert – Generated when a SCRAM Remote Breath Pro device has not communicated with SCRAMNET for 24 hours.
