Procedure

Before Client Arrives

Perform the following step shortly before meeting with the client.

  1. Ensure that New Device is Fully Charged.
    1. Plug the power cord into the device and into an electrical outlet.
The battery indicator on the screen will show when the device is fully charged. This may take several minutes to several hours, depending on how much the battery is currently charged. Fully charging a dead battery takes approximately six hours.

When Client Arrives

Perform the following steps when the client arrives with the device being replaced.

  1. Unassign Old Device
To set the device to Pending Removal:

    1. Access the client’s Equipment page and select the Stop Monitoring button.
    2. On the Schedule when to Stop Monitoring page, select the option of Stop monitoring now and check in equipment now. The RB Pro device status will update to “Pending Removal.” Once the device communicates with SCRAMNET, it’s status will update to “In Inventory.”
  2. Assign New Device
To set the new device to Pending Assignment:

    1. Access the client’s Equipment page.
    2. Click the Assign Equipment button.
    3. Select the new device serial number and click the Assign button.
    4. Make any necessary settings changes and click the Finish button.
The device status is set to Pending Assignment.
  3. Re-enroll the Client
Once the device is in a “Pending Assignment” status, power up the device by holding the Select button down for three seconds. The Remote Breath Pro will display the SCRAM Systems logo, then update to “Device Unassigned,” and then “Ready for Enrollment.” Shortly after the “Ready for Enrollment” statement, the device’s screen will update to “Align Eyes.” The device is now ready to record the initial enrollment photo. To ensure the best Enrollment photo and Practice Tests are taken, ensure the client:

    • Is in a well-lit area away from direct sunlight
    • Removes any hats, sunglasses, or hair hanging over their face
    • Sits up straight or stands with their back to a light-colored, solid, non-reflective background
    • Looks straight forward (like they are taking a DMV or passport photo)

Firmly insert the breath tube into the port. Have the client place the tip of the breath tube into their mouth and follow the on-screen prompts.

    Instruct the client to:

    1. Align Eyes for the test. Ensure their eyes are within the window on the screen. When aligned correctly, the red outline will turn green.
    2. When the device displays Blow, take a deep breath and blow steadily into the tube until the screen updates to Stop.
    3. The screen updates to Analyzing Data. If the enrollment test is successful; the screen will display Enrollment Photo is Good, followed by Please Wait.
    4. Begin Practice Tests – The device will now prompt the client to Begin Practice Test. Have the client repeat the testing cycle until they have provided at least three (3) practice tests and feel confident they are able to complete a test when prompted to do so without supervision.
  4. End the Enrollment
To end the Enrollment and Practice Tests:

    1. Press the select button. The menu will display.
    2. Press the down button until the End Enrollment option is highlighted; then press the select button again.

Give the new RB Pro device to the client.
